![]() ![]() The album artwork is by Gogo Melone, singer of Luna Obscura, and looks great – dark and moody with an Addams family feel to it. Having said that, although its one of my favourites, the whole album is top quality – there isn’t a single weak track here, just a load of realyl good songs. ![]() “Euphoria” is another great song – a keyboard-heavy sound and a good strong chorus make this one of the best songs on the album. “Purple” is a track that will really appeal to Lacuna Coil fans – there’s a real Lacuna Coil feel to the song – stronger here than elsewhere on the album. It’s a superb start to the album with great vocals, guitars and keyboards all combining to give a rich heavy sound ![]() The first full-blown song is “Afterdark”. The album kicks off with “House of wonders”, a short instrumental track that really does sound superb and builds the atmosphere nicely – it’s something you could certainly imagine hearing on a Nightwish album. Musically there are a few bands that spring to mind as influences – The Birthday Massacre and Lacuna Coil being two obvious ones. Lovelorn Dolls released their demo EP “An Intense Feeling of Affection” in 2011, and now are about to release their debut album – “House of wonders” Corpus Christi was formerly in the band Free Launch, and created the “Road to Consciousness” project – a rock opera which is where he first teamed up with Ladyhell. Ladyhell was formerly singer of Skeptical Minds from 2002 to 2007 and then with Valkyre in 2008. The band was formed by Ladyhell and Corpus Christi, and was initially called Lovelorn before becoming Lovelorn Dolls. Lovelorn Dolls are a band from Belgium – home of great beer, great chocolate – and some great bands. ![]()
